Our story

Why "FernWorks"?

Ferns don't bloom overnight. They unfurl — steadily, frond by frond, given the right conditions. We think education choices work the same way. Rushed decisions made at a noisy education fair rarely unfurl well; considered ones, made with honest information and a bit of patience, almost always do.

Since opening our first office in Subang Jaya in 2019, we have grown from three counsellors and a shared spreadsheet to a team of twenty advisors, a live scholarship database covering more than 180 partner institutions, and over nine thousand students placed in Malaysia, Australia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Ireland.

The promise that hasn't changed

Universities pay us a recruitment fee when a student enrols — that is how the service stays free for families. But we structured the company so that every advisor earns the same regardless of which partner a student chooses. Nobody here has a reason to push you anywhere. That single design decision shapes everything else we do.

What we believe

• The student picks; we inform. Our job is a clear-eyed shortlist and honest caveats, not a sales target.
• Parents are partners. Every discovery session welcomes the whole family — big decisions go better with everyone in the room.
• Money talk is not taboo. We put total costs, hidden fees and realistic scholarship odds on the table from day one.
• After-sales matters. Enrolment is the start of the relationship, not the end. We check in during your first semester, every time.
