This Privacy Policy explains how FernWorks Education Advisory Sdn. Bhd. (Registration No. 202201038456 (1482756-T)) ("FernWorks", "we", "us") handles personal data collected through fernworks.help and through our advisory services, in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 of Malaysia ("PDPA").

1. What we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Identity and contact details — your name, email address and phone number, provided through our contact form, by email or over the phone;
  • Educational information — examination results, transcripts, current study level and course preferences that you choose to share so we can advise you;
  • Enquiry content — the messages you send us and notes from consultations;
  • Technical data — browser type, device information and pages visited on this site, collected through cookies as described in our Cookie Policy.

2. Why we collect it

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide education advisory services;
  • To match your academic profile with suitable courses, institutions and scholarships;
  • To prepare and submit applications to institutions, where you instruct us to;
  • To improve this website and our services;
  • To meet legal and regulatory obligations applicable in Malaysia.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not send marketing communications unless you have agreed to receive them.

3. Sharing with institutions

When you ask us to apply to a university, college or scholarship body on your behalf, we share the information required for that application — typically your identity, contact and academic details — with that institution only. Each institution processes your data under its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to read it before we submit.

4. Storage and security

Personal data is stored on access-controlled systems and retained only as long as needed for the purposes above, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards — including encryption in transit and role-based access — protect it against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your rights under the PDPA

You may, at any time:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate or outdated data;
  • Withdraw consent to processing, subject to legal or contractual restrictions;
  • Ask us to stop processing your data for specific purposes.

6. Children and minors

Many of our enquirers are secondary-school students. Where an enquirer is under 18, we ask that a parent or guardian participates in consultations and consents to the processing of the student's data.

We may update this policy from time to time. The revision date at the top of this page reflects the current version, and material changes will be highlighted on this page.
